We supply four thermal inkjet (TIJ) printers, from a ½" lot code on a carton to 2" case marking and 160 mL high-volume runs, through qualified distributors. Answer a few questions to see the setup that fits.
Anser NexGen systems, supplied and supported by TPS, an Anser OEM partner.

Code height and the space at the print point rule systems in or out first. Then how you want to run it, the line, and cost narrow it down. The matching setup lights up piece by piece.
X1 Lite controller7" touchscreen; also runs a single Smart Printhead
T2 Standard600 × 600 dpi at ½"; 300 × 600 at 1"↔ 1.5 in (38 mm) wide
T2XL1" band (prints ½" too) · 300 × 600 dpi↔ 2.2 in (56 mm) wideBoth controllers have a 1" bulk head that takes the 160 mL Odyssey XL cartridge, with up to 4× the ink of a standard cartridge. That means fewer changeovers and a lower cost per print on high-volume lines. The T2XL fits the X1 Lite and the T1XL fits the X1.

The same facts in the same order for each system, so the differences stand out. Open a system to see every printhead and cartridge option.

All four print text, dates, counters, and 1D and 2D barcodes including GS1 DataMatrix and QR, at 60 m/min (197 ft/min) at 300 dpi.

The SPH Mobile Kit turns a Smart Printhead into a handheld coder. Mark cartons, pallets and drums anywhere on site, with the same ½" codes and Odyssey cartridges you run on the line.
A thermal inkjet (TIJ) printer codes dates, lot numbers, barcodes and logos onto packaging as it moves down the line. A tiny heater in each nozzle boils a drop of ink and fires it onto the pack, straight from a sealed cartridge.
The ink lives in a sealed cartridge, so there's no make-up fluid, no ink system to manage, and almost no scheduled maintenance. When the cartridge runs out, you swap it.
Up to 600 dpi, sharp enough for small text, 1D barcodes and 2D codes like GS1 Data Matrix and QR. Speed follows resolution: 60 m/min (about 197 ft/min) at 300 dpi.
Odyssey water-based ink for cartons, paper and corrugate; Odyssey solvent ink for plastic, film, foil, metal and glass.
Thermal inkjet. A TIJ printer fires ink by heating it: a small heater in each nozzle boils a drop of ink and pushes it onto the surface. It's the same principle as an office inkjet, built for a production line.
Coding and marking on the production line: best-by and expiration dates, lot and batch numbers, barcodes and 2D codes, and logos on cartons, cases, bottles, film, foil, cans and more.
Continuous inkjet (CIJ) keeps ink circulating through the printhead and needs make-up fluid and regular maintenance. Thermal inkjet fires drops on demand from a sealed cartridge, with almost no scheduled maintenance and resolution up to 600 dpi. Our guide compares them in detail.
Thermal inkjet vs. CIJ →It depends on the code height, where the screen should be, how many lines you run and how much you print. The finder above narrows it down, or tell us about your line and a TPS coding specialist will help.

Prints a full 1" in a single pass — no stitching — and installs like a standard cartridge, so there are no pouches and no tubes to maintain. About 4× the ink of a standard 42 mL cartridge: longer runs, fewer changeovers.

Water-based and solvent-based inks in standard ½" and 1" cartridges and the 160 mL XL bulk cartridge, matched to your substrate.
